Affiliate – Final Words

June 23, 2012

Okay, so some summary thoughts about the Affiliate Annual General Meeting.

Really, really enjoyed the day. Got to meet a lot of really interesting people, even got invited out to the Arizona affiliate reception on Monday evening – should be fun.

A lot of people had great questions about what ATLE does and how we operate.

Many, many affiliates receive all kinds of funding for PD from their respective departments of education and from other sources.

Many affiliates do the same thing ATLE does and depend greatly on the support of partners at their annual conferences.

ISTE is doing a great job bringing enhanced member value to affiliates and we need to continue to take advantage of these whenever we can.

Oh yes, and I won a door prize! I am now the proud owner of a Kindle Fire! Wahoo! Usually I’m giving away prizes, and today I won a prize! Awesome!

ps. Lots of folks enjoyed winning the two ATLE flashlights that I had on me, and the hand lotion from the Banff Centre!;)

pps. ISTE hosted an Affiliate’s reception down the street at the Omni Hotel. We did the infamous ISTE basket exchange. Wouldn’t you know it, the Aussie’s picked our bag, and we picked theirs! What a blast! Great food and a live music, and a chance to visit with folks from all over the world. I had a chance to chat with folks from Florida, Michigan, Wyoming (from Rock Springs yet!), Kentucky, and more! And on the way out, met Peter Skillen from ECOO in Ontario!

It’s going to be a great conference!
