Going to ISTE
It’s finally here! I’m on the WestJet flight to San Diego for ISTE 2012 – a huge conference with 20,000+ attendees from all over the world. As part of representing ATLE, I’m going to be blogging about the trip, keynotes, sessions, and who knows what else will come to mind! So stay tuned!
One of the great things about living in Strathmore is proximity to the Calgary airport – 40 minutes of nice driving!
After a piece of toast and some milk, and saying goodbye to the kids and Rhonda, I left in the amazing ’92 Civic and headed out!
First stop – Park2Go
These guys have the best parking system around! I pulled in, got out, they took my name and license plate, and then whisked me off to the airport! Great service, very fast, and friendly people! And I think it’s about $10 a day to watch over my car!
Then of course at the airport the line ups start! First wait to check in, 20 minutes, then 20 minutes or so to get through customs, and then probably another 20 minutes through security. Gotta tell you though, each person I got to talk to was excellent – from the WestJet ticket person, to the security folks, customs agents, and flight attendants! Everyone was Ina good mood!
While I am waiting at the gate, who do I meet but Andy and Amber Cunningham and their one year old son! What a lucky guy that Andy – get’s to bring his family with him! Had a delightful visit with Amber, they’re going to have a great trip!
Get on the plane, and get an awesome window seat in row 11, and Treva walks in, sitting right in front! Of course moments later Ken and the crew from Battle River, Bob, and Kurt come traipsing into the plane! It’s going to be a great week!
To top it off, WestJet has jokes playing on the TV’s! Sheesh!
In the air now, will post this after we land!
