Arrival in San Diego
We’re here! Landed just around 1:00 PM local time, and it’s gorgeous. It’s only about 22-24 degrees, but a nice warm breeze is blowing, it’s sunshiny out, and life is good.
Luggage arrived safe and sound, whew!
Had a sandwich on the airplane, sure it was $6.50, but it actually was a pretty good roast beef sandwich!
Upon arrival, the whole group of us shared a nice van taking us to the Marriott Hotel.
I think the driver did quite well, $8 each x 9 people. Hmmm. Maybe I should’ve been a taxi driver!
Upon arrival at the very nice Marriott, we got to wait in line, must have been close to 30 minutes before the good folks at the hotel decided to get some more people on registration, and they moved us through quick after that!
Quickly took the stuff up to the room, then we met to go and get something to eat. Jody said we had to cross the street first, which meant we had to go to the “other side” of the tracks…
We wandered downtown until we landed at Funky Garcia’s. What a blast! We had some great food, and a great visit. The person-who-shall-not-be-named sitting next to me had a three taco meal, that looked awesome, and I don’t think it was finished…
Afterwards had to go on a bit of a walk to work off all the food that we consumed. Mmmm. Walked down by the USS Midway museum, sadly it was closed for the day already, maybe tomorrow.
It was getting quite warm by now, so headed back to the hotel for a drink of water, but stopped at the San Diego Convention Centre, to check where I need to be tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM!
That’s it for now! Two entries in one day! Whoa! Lots going on, and I’ll be posting as frequently as I can!
